Qualified or Part Qualified (Finals Level) Patent Attorney
Birmingham/London/Southampton/Cambridge
£Highly Competitive Salary plus Package

My client is committed to providing a personal service that is second-to-none. By getting to know their clients and by understanding their needs they can provide advice on all aspects of intellectual property protection.
They are a full-service Intellectual Property firm, providing professional advice and services in relation to all matters of Intellectual Property, including Patents, Trade Marks, and Design & Copyright

My client has established a patents department that can offer clients a superior service across a diverse range of technologies, including Chemistry/Biotechnology, Computers/Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical, and Physics/Materials.

The firm acts before both the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK-IPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO). They also file a considerable number of International (PCT) patent applications, which are a popular option for their clients to initially pursue patent protection in a large number of countries worldwide through a single application.

They deal with drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications, as well as overseeing assignment and licensing programmes, filing and defending Oppositions of European patents, and attending to the renewal of patents. The practitioners in their patents group also have significant experience of attending hearings before the UK and European Patent Offices, including contentious Opposition and Appeal hearings at the EPO. Additionally, they offer a range of advice-based services, such as freedom-to-use searches, patentability searches, due diligence exercises, and watching services.

The firm's patents department comprises personnel having degrees and post-graduate degrees across many technical backgrounds, which enables them to match the particular subject area of an invention with an appropriate member of their team. They believe in ensuring that their clients are provided with an advisor who can meet their specific needs.

The firm is looking for a part qualified (or a qualified and post-qualified experienced) Patent Attorney to join their existing and expanding team in either their Birmingham, London, Cambridge or Southampton office, with a technical background in physics or electronics or computer implemented inventions. The ideal candidate will be recently CPA and EPA qualified. However, candidates with greater experience, or candidates awaiting results in either qualification will also be considered.

The person is required to provide support primarily to an experienced and very busy Partner as well as work towards developing their own client portfolio over the short to medium time.

The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package including bonus, contributory pension, private medical insurance and permanent health insurance. Salary is dependent on qualification and experience.
